Position Summary:

The ActionLink Certified Technician (ACT) is responsible for merchandising execution, installation, troubleshooting and repair in retail stores. The technician will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with all store level associates and management personnel. He/she will also be responsible for communicating, written and verbally, with ActionLink field leadership and client management teams. This person will be called upon periodically to provide specific feedback on the setup or “shakedown” of displays to the customer and ActionLink teams to ensure accurate and efficient field execution. As an ActionLink Certified Technician, you will be leading the organization in highly complex display sets to support critical product releases and transitions for the leading brands in major retailers nationwide, in addition to working closely with those clients at times. You will be responsible for delighting our customers and retail partners by installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing Interactive Displays, Kiosks, Vendor “Pads” and other fixtures. The representative will adhere to all dress code and professionalism standards set by ActionLink and the client.

Position Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Technical certifications a plus

  • 2+ years of experience installing and troubleshooting simple and complex product displays such as:

  • Audio-Video configuration

  • Retail security devices

  • PC connectivity

  • Media player refresh

  • Low voltage wiring

  • Light construction – assembling gondolas, drilling holes, etc.

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships

  • Ability to read and interpret planograms

  • Critical thinking

  • Ability to travel extensively, as necessary

  • Technicians will have work opportunities for at least 64 hours per 2-week pay period (approximately 32 hours per week). Hours may increase to full-time (40 hours per week/80 hours per 2-week pay period) as business increases.

  • Set schedule with availability to work weekends, early morning, and overnight hours, if necessary

  • Technicians are eligible for medical insurance benefits at the minimum schedule of 64 hours per pay period

  • Reliable transportation

Position Duties:

  • Present strong retail professionalism

  • Evangelize a message of excellence

  • Optimize visual merchandising of all customer products, ensuring they are signed, functional and priced for customer interaction

  • Effectively install, troubleshoot, and maintain a variety of technical and/or complex displays in various national retail stores. This includes:

  • Connecting audio/video components for home theater experience

  • Installing and troubleshoot product display security devices

  • Category resets including resets with demo product and/or functional displays

  • Refresh or troubleshoot media player

  • Perform light construction to install displays or reset categories– assembling gondolas, drilling holes, etc

  • Lead 2 to 4-person teams on heavy lifting, complex and/or high-value installations

  • Guide and demonstrate safe lifting for heavy, large and/or high-value products in stores

  • Travel locally to complete store visits within assigned territory

  • Facilitate market visits with clients and retail partners

  • Perform and video record shakedown installations to troubleshoot potential issues and refine instructions

  • Maintain regular communication with remote ACT District Manager via phone, text and email

  • Complete daily online reports to document visits, including submitting digital photos

  • Complete all required documentation for submission and timely reimbursement of expenses incurred while traveling, per ActionLink policies

  • Ability to record video demonstrating the installation or repair of some assignments in the field

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures set forth by ActionLink and retail partners

Working Environment:

  • Retail store environments

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel to different locations (locally by vehicle and on occasion nationally by plane)

  • Must be able tostand, walk, bend over, reach overhead, crouch, kneel, balance, grasp, push or pull, talk and/or hear, and drive for long periodsof time while working – up to eight (8) hours or more

  • Must have the ability to climb ladders more than 10’ high (in compliance with OSHA standards)

  • Must have the ability to use a computer, keyboard, mouse, phone, and other standard office equipment

  • Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs

  • Must have a basic understanding and ability to use hand-held and power tools
